Meet Emily:
A Massachusetts native, Emily graduated from Hamilton College with a double Bachelor’s degree in History and German Studies. After college she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to Germany before starting on her graduate degrees. She earned her Master’s degree of Acupuncture from MCPHS/New England School of Acupuncture, her Master’s degree in Pain Management from Tufts University School of Medicine, and her Doctorate of Acupuncture from Pacific College of Health Sciences.
Drawing from both Eastern and Western academic and clinic experiences, Emily provides a truly integrative style of care, offering acupuncture, nutritional and lifestyle counseling to achieve each patient’s individual wellness goals.
Her experience at Tufts Medical School has prepared her to effectively treat a variety of neurological and pain conditions, including neuropathy, arthritis, migraines, headaches, facial pain, sports injuries, and chronic pain conditions. In addition, her further academic and clinical training in prenatal, postpartum, fertility and women’s health has prepared her to help many women on their health journeys.
When she is not in the clinic, Emily enjoys hiking, boating, traveling, woodworking and hanging out with her wonderful family.

Originally from Connecticut, Courtney earned her bachelor’s degree at St. Lawrence University in New York where she majored in anthropology and minored in British literature.
She received her master’s degree in acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where she specialized in both Chinese and Japanese acupuncture styles.
Courtney has interned as an acupuncturist at both Massachusetts General Hospital and Cambridge Hospital, where she worked closely with both patients and practitioners to help bring acupuncture into mainstream treatment plans for a variety of conditions. She specializes in women’s health, fertility, and sports medicine. Her orthopedic acupuncture styles as well as her integrated, holistic approach helps her patients modify their diets, lifestyles and exercise habits to maximize their health and healing.

Meet Irene:
Irene has a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture from MCPHS and a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrative Health from MCPHS. She began her education at Skidmore College studying mathematics and painting, but graduated from Lesley University with a BA in Holistic Psychology and Mindfulness Studies.
Before joining Johnston Family Acupuncture, Irene worked at Massachusetts General Hospital where she provided acupuncture treatments to the oncology staff. She is also certified in Reiki and a 500hr RYT-500 (Registered Yoga Teacher) with a special interest in yoga for trauma. With all her interests and skills, Irene combines the wisdom of ancient healing arts with the practicality of evidence-based techniques.
She employs an integrative approach to every patient’s care and her mission is to restore balance to the human body mainly through acupuncture and secondarily through the use of essential oils, yoga, meditation, and mindfulness. Although trained as a general practitioner, Irene has found great success in treating musculoskeletal problems, mental/emotional issues, chronic and acute pain, autoimmune disorders, digestive issues, allergies, and headaches.

Jessica Ward grew up in Westborough, MA and graduated from University of Massachusetts Boston with a degree in Exercise and Health Science. She worked as a personal trainer at Equinox in Back Bay before enrolling at the New England School of Acupuncture of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, where she completed her Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Degree. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Science.
Jess practices Chinese style acupuncture and herbal medicine and thrives when working with those motivated to improve their health. In particular, she loves to work with people on their acute and chronic pain injuries, anxiety/mental health and women’s health, particularly those looking to conceive.
When Jess isn’t working she is training or competing nationally in powerlifting competitions, making music with her fiance, cooking, and of course - eating!
